Difference Between Magnesia Brick And Fused Magnesia Brick

Magnesia brick is a type of basic refractory containing more than 90% MgO with periclase as the main crystalline phase.
Generally, magnesia bricks can be divided into sintered magnesia brick and chemically bonded magnesia brick. Magnesia brick with high purity and sintering temperature and periclase grains in direct contact is called direct bonded magnesia brick; magnesia brick made with fused magnesia is called fused rebonded magnesia brick.
Magnesia brick has a high refractoriness and softening starting temperature under load and good corrosion resistancde to alkali slags, but bad thermal shock.
Sintered magnesia brick is made of magnesia bricks for producing bricks by crushing, batching, kneading, shaping and firing at 1550-1600℃. High purity products are fired above 1750℃. Bon burned magnesia brick is made of magnesia sand with addition of binders by kneading, shaping and drying.
Sintered magnesia brick is made of high quality magnesia sand as the main raw materials and pulp as the binder by kneading, high pressure shaping and firing above 1550℃ in a high temperature tunnel kiln. It has good thermal stability, corrosion resistance and spalling resistance. It is widely used as the lining material for converters, electric arc furnaces and other industrial furnace refractories.
Fused manesia brick has high structure density, high mechanical strength and low impurities. It is mainly used in the hihg temperature areas of the regenerators of large glass furnaces. Fused magnesia sand is made with high quality magnesia sand. It has trong anti-hydration capacity.
