Magnesia refractories are made of magnesite, seawater magnesite and dolomite, with refractory as the main crystalline phase and magnesia content above 80%. Belongs to basic refractory materials.
Classification of Magnesia Brick
Generally it can be divided into two categories: sintered magnesia bricks (also known as fired magnesia bricks) and chemically bonded magnesia bricks (also known as non-fired magnesia bricks). Magnesia bricks with high purity and firing temperature are called direct bonded magnesia bricks because of direct contact of the periclase grains; bricks made from fused magnesia are called fused and bonded magnesia bricks.
Magnesia bricks have higher fire resistance, very good resistance to alkaline slag, high temperature at the beginning of load softening, but poor thermal shock resistance. Sintered magnesia bricks are made from bricks and magnesia bricks. After smashing, batching, kneading and shaping, they are fired at a high temperature of 1550 ~ 1600 ° C. The firing temperature of high-purity products is above 1750 ° C. Non-pouring magnesia brick is made by adding appropriate chemical binder to magnesia, mixing, molding and drying.
Uses of Magnesium Brick
Mainly used in steelmaking alkaline open hearth, electric furnace bottom and furnace wall, permanent lining of oxygen converter, non-ferrous metal smelting furnace, high temperature tunnel kiln, lining of calcined magnesium brick and cement rotary kiln, furnace bottom and furnace wall, Glass kiln heat storage room grid brick and so on.
